Company Visit: Majvik Farm and Lempimarket
🌱 Aim of the event: Supported by the Aalto Sustainability Action Booster, Sustainability Community Finland aims to spotlight local initiatives that champion sustainability and circularity. The goal is to inspire hope, strengthen community engagement, and demonstrate how circular economy principles can be put into practice.
💡 What to expect: During this company visit, you’ll discover an alternative approach to producing and purchasing food—one rooted in organic farming and reduced packaging through sustainable containers. The program includes a guided tour of Majvik organic farm and presentations from Lempimarket, an online supermarket focused on sustainable food choices. Everyone is welcome regardless of background!

📍 Location: Meet-up in Otakaari on Aalto campus (Espoo) at 15:00 where the bus will pick us up, the farm's location is in Sipoo

🌲About the companies:
🥔Majvik Farm: Atte owns Majvik maatila, which is an organic, biodynamic, and certified Demeter farm (the most demanding eco-label so far). The farm produces diverse vegetables widely grown in Finland such as potatoes, beetroots, and onions.
🥕Lempimarket: Lempimarket is the first sustainable food store in Finland aiming at being 100% circular, it was co-founded by Marie-Elodie Bourot who will give a presentation about Lempimarket.
The event is organised by the Sustainability Community Finland and fully funded by the Sustainability Action Booster grant of Aalto University.
