About Event

As the holidays approach, many of us return “home” to family systems, familiar dynamics, and the places where our old stories live. This season can stir both comfort and contraction. Before we move toward others, this gathering invites us to return first to ourselves.

Coming Home to the Self is a 90-minute, research-informed workshop exploring how the body holds our relational histories and how somatic awareness can help us reconnect with an inner sense of safety and belonging. Guided by Aubrey Aust, writer, educator, and MA candidate at NYU in Psychology and Philosophy, we’ll draw from somatic psychology, attachment theory, and relational philosophy to explore what it means to feel at home in our own skin.

Through guided reflection, gentle grounding practices, and facilitated dialogue, you’ll learn:

  • How the nervous system encodes safety and threat in relationship.

  • What “home” feels like in the body, and how to return to it under stress.

  • How to cultivate reconnection with yourself and others through embodied awareness.

This is not a therapy session but a space for reflective practice and collective care. You’ll leave with tangible tools for grounding and self-regulation, and a renewed sense of belonging within yourself — just in time for the holiday season.
