About Event

NYCETC and the Office of Strategic Workforce Development (OSWD) are hosting a one-hour session to help members better understand OSWD's current funding opportunities and prepare for Round 10 applications.

The first half of the session will feature an overview of the funding opportunities and a question-and-answer discussion with Empire State Development. The second half will be reserved exclusively for NYCETC members to hear from peers who have previously received OSWD funding, share information about the workforce programs they are considering for funding, and connect with fellow members.

What to Expect

Part 1: Funding Overview and Q&A with Empire State Development

Overview of OSWD's Capital Grant and Pay-for-Performance Grant opportunities, led by Meghan Kayser, Outreach and Coordination Manager, Workforce Development at Empire State Development

Question-and-answer session with Meghan Kayser to address member questions.

Part 2: NYCETC Member Discussion

Following the conclusion of the presentation and Q&A, Empire State Development representatives will leave the meeting.

The second half of the session will provide NYCETC members with an opportunity to hear from peers who have previously received OSWD funding, share information about the workforce programs they are considering for funding, and discuss lessons learned, implementation strategies, and opportunities for partnership.

Who Should Attend

This session is intended for NYCETC members interested in applying for OSWD funding, including organizations considering Capital Grants, Pay-for-Performance Grants, or future workforce development partnerships.

Participation Expectations:

The second half of this session is designed to be a peer discussion rather than a presentation. To create a meaningful and useful conversation for everyone, we ask participants to:

• Join with your camera on if possible

• Be prepared to briefly introduce yourself and your organization

• Share a few details about the workforce program, project, or idea you are considering for OSWD funding, even if it is still in the early stages of development

• Come ready to ask questions, share experiences, and learn from fellow NYCETC members, including organizations that have previously received OSWD funding

Organizations do not need to have a fully developed proposal to participate. Members who are still exploring whether to apply are welcome and encouraged to join the conversation.

About the Funding Opportunity

OSWD manages two funding streams that support industry-aligned workforce training and job placement:

• Capital Grants provide funding to modernize existing training centers, build new facilities, or purchase machinery and equipment that support workforce training.

• Pay-for-Performance Grants provide implementation funding for new or expanded workforce programs, including curriculum development, instruction, technology, marketing, and trainee supports.

Round 10 applications are open through July 31 and will be the final funding round before a planned pause in 2027 to assess the grant programs.
