Tech Open Mic Night with Jem
An in-person meet-up for founders, builders, and team leads who are actively using technology to build, scale, and innovate - and bringing these ideas to life, not just talking about it.
Main talk topic: Building an AI-Native Team - failure, buy-in and accelerating adoption
What does it take to reach the “aha moment” when using AI, and how can you deliberately create your own breakthrough? In this talk, Simon explores why top-down AI mandates often fail, and how they achieved full leadership buy-in across the organisation. From weekly demos to celebrating failure, he’ll walk through the rituals that turned early AI curiosity into something permanent, as well as how making AI non-negotiable, by tying incentives to usage and setting clear deadlines, can accelerate adoption. He’ll also bring this to life with real insights from his team, including building 150+ internal agents and automations across Sales, CS, Engineering, Finance and People teams.
Expect an honest look at the journey, including what worked, what flopped, and what they’d do differently.
