XRPL Hackathon @ XRP Australia 2026
This XRPL Hackathon is a global event focused on building innovative applications on the XRP Ledger. Participants will ideate, build, and present XRPL projects. The event is organized by Canberra Blockchain Association and Ripple's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI).
This hackathon will be held held the weekend following XRP Australia 2026. Hacking will be in-person in Sydney during the day on Saturday and Sunday (venue TBA).
🛠 Challenge Statement
Build an innovative project on XRP that solves a real problem.
The Goal: Build an MVP that leverages the XRP Ledger's core features to solve a real-world problem.
Potential Focus Areas: We're seeking innovative solutions with a variety of use-cases. If you don’t know where to start, we’re especially interested in applications around DeFi, privacy, and programmability.
What success could like:
RLUSD-based apps
Experimentation with XRPL’s native lending protocol and smart escrow features
SDKs for other developers to easily integrate XRPL features into their apps
Payment apps, microfinance, tokenization
⚠️ Eligibility & Rules
Fresh Code Only: To ensure fair competition, projects that began development before the hackathon begins are NOT eligible.
Team Size: Max 5 members per team. Each team must formally register here by 11am on Feb 28.
To compete, you must submit a working, testable MVP that is publicly available on GitHub with a detailed README. All resources for getting started can be found at this linktree.
🏆 Prizes
Three winning projects will be awarded a track prize: 3,000 AUD for 1st, 2,000 AUD for 2nd, and 1,000 AUD for 3rd with an additional 250 AUD bounty for the Best Developer Feedback (submitted at this link). Show us how you can use the XRPL to innovate in DeFi.
