Hack for Humanity: Colombo, Sri Lanka
HACK FOR HUMANITY: FALL 2026
Hack for Humanity - Colombo is a one-day, in-person event organized by The AI Collective - Colombo Chapter in collaboration with the CSSL Gen Z Chapter of UCSC.
Work with a team to identify a real challenge affecting people or communities in Sri Lanka and develop a practical AI-enabled solution concept or prototype. The event will include a challenge briefing, team building, mentor guidance, project demos, judging, and recognition.
Who should attend: Students, developers, researchers, professionals, and community members interested in using AI and technology to address real-world challenges in Sri Lanka.
Team registration: Each team must have exactly four members. Every member must register individually on this Luma page and use the same team name. After all four members have registered, the team leader must submit the linked Team Member Details form once for the whole team, including all four members. Teammates should not submit that form separately. Enter the email each person used for their Luma registration.
The event focuses on local relevance, human impact, practical feasibility, and responsible use of AI. Outstanding teams will receive gifts and recognition.
Hackathon format: The program includes a 6 hour team build session, followed by project demonstrations, judging, recognition, and closing.
