Downtown Diaspora: OUTSIDE
One more evening outside before summer slips away.
Downtown Diaspora returns for an end-of-summer gathering at SAT Buvette Terrace.
OUTSIDE. is the End-of-Summer Edition of Downtown Diaspora: a casual after-work gathering bringing together Black professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs and community-minded people across Montréal.
For this edition, we're heading upstairs to the rooftop of the Société des arts technologiques (SAT), where food, music and the city come together in a relaxed open-air setting.
Step outside.
Outside of work mode.
Outside of your usual circles.
Outside of the professional bubble.
Come by after work, grab a drink, meet someone new and stay awhile.
No formal networking. No agenda. Just people, conversation and a good place to be.
Free to attend. Food and drinks available for purchase at the Buvette.

SAT
We're excited to bring this edition to the rooftop of the Société des arts technologiques: a downtown space where culture, technology, music and community intersect. The SAT's non-profit model also means that the energy generated through its spaces contributes back to the artists, researchers and cultural programming that make the institution what it is.

The idea
Downtown Diaspora was created around a simple observation: there are so many Black professionals, creatives and entrepreneurs moving through the same city, working in the same downtown, and crossing the same paths. Yet we don't always have easy, organic opportunities to actually meet one another.
So we created one.
Downtown Diaspora is a casual, after-work gathering designed to make connection feel easy. Come alone or bring a friend. Stay for 30 minutes or stay for the evening. Grab something to eat, have a drink, and see who you happen to meet.
For this edition, we're simply taking that idea outside.
