Get Started With Claude Code
Announcement
This session has reached capacity, but I'm running a second one on 06.June, at the same time. If that works for you, please sign up, and I'll move you to that session.
You've heard about Claude Code. Maybe you've even installed it. But then you opened the terminal, saw that blinking cursor, and closed it again.
That was my story too, until it wasn't. Now, Claude Code is my daily working environment for product work, research, writing, and automation. The difference was learning a handful of concepts and mental models.
This is a 4.5-hour hands-on workshop where you'll go from "I've heard of Claude Code" to actually using it, with a working setup you'll keep using after.
What We'll Cover
Terminal without fear
Guided warm-up: you'll type commands, paste images, and reference files
By the time we start learning concepts, the terminal already feels normal
Files, folders, and context
Why local files are the fundamental difference between Claude Code and ChatGPT
How folder structure directly shapes what Claude understands about your work
Live walkthrough of a real, daily-use setup
Context engineering
The context window explained: what it is, why it runs out, and how to see it happening live
Smart Zone vs Dumb Zone: why some prompts get brilliant answers, and others get garbage
CLAUDE.md – teaching Claude who you are
Build a permanent instruction file that follows you across every project
Guardrails, preferences, working style – set once, applied in every working session
Models, modes, and how to think about them
When to use the cheap, fast model vs the expensive smart one (the Gica/ Bülent framework 😄)
Three execution modes: when to let Claude act, when to make it plan first, when to approve everything
Skills – reusable workflows
Turn any recurring task into a command you can trigger anytime
Live demo of a real skill in action, then you'll use pre-built skills yourself
MCPs – connecting Claude to external tools
A look at how Claude Code connects to Gmail, Google Calendar, web search, and more
Demo only – awareness of what's possible, not a deep dive
Format
Hands-on, guided exercises from minute 15. We'll work through examples, and I will control the pace, so nobody falls behind.
Pre-work is required: a few short async lessons (install Claude Code, set up Warp, etc.). Instructions sent after registration. You must arrive with Claude Code installed and working.
Who Should Come
People curious about Claude Code but intimidated by the terminal
Anyone who installed Claude Code but never got past the first session
Product managers, designers, founders, ops leads – anyone whose job isn't writing code
People who've tried ChatGPT but feel there should be more
No coding experience needed. If you can install an app and follow written instructions, you're ready.
About the Trainer
Ady Rugina – 20+ years of international product experience at companies like eBay, Orange, and Just Eat Takeaway. Ady came to Claude Code as a non-developer and now uses it daily for product work, writing, research, and automation. He teaches from the perspective of someone who had to figure it out without a technical background – and remembers exactly what the fear felt like.
