The Crawling Dead: A Brownstone Brooklyn Halloween Food Crawl
Join us Halloween afternoon for The Crawling Dead, a food crawl through Brownstone Brooklyn, from slice counters and bakeries to a cannoli finish. Come hungry. We'll leave no scone unturned.
Carroll Gardens gives Halloween plenty of room to haunt: deep front gardens, brownstone steps and iron fences become little stages for skeletons, cobwebs and pumpkins. Neighbors put real care into their scare. Nearby Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights share the tradition, turning their stoops into everything from pumpkin displays to full haunted scenes. This is a neighborhood that dresses up with you.
We'll start at the northern part of Brownstone Brooklyn (minutes from Manhattan on the F/2/3/4/R/A/C) and into Carroll Gardens.
Along the way, we'll create our own progressive meal, picking up local faves to share, with plenty of stops for conversation, brownstone blocks, and spooky stoops dressed up for the holiday. Wear a costume or one Halloween accessory. We'll vote on the best decorated stoop in the group chat. Stoop, look and listen. The competition is dead serious.
Weather call Thursday night. Pouring cancels, drizzle we walk.
Our thesis is simple: If you want to go far, go together. Who you surround yourself with makes a massive impact on your own endeavors. Let's walk, talk, get spooked and build together.
ABOUT COHORT
We're a grassroots effort to build a community of ambitious doers and thinkers in NYC. Relationships and the community that grows out of those relationships are more powerful in the long term than the non stop corporate networking events we find in the city. Real and deep relationships go long and far. We hold weekly co-working so you can get work done, give and get support, see the same people regularly, and turn acquaintances into relationships. We also hold social events to explore and experience the city together to further build up those connections that turn into community. Our goal is to build a community and culture that is people and idea based in the world's greatest city.
