For one evening only, we'll transform our Georgetown showroom into an intimate podcast studio to explore what makes stories meaningful, why they stay with us, and how we see ourselves reflected in the books we read.

​Drinks in the Library is the library podcast where drinks aren’t just allowed, they’re required! Hosted weekly by librarian Gigi Howard, each episode features a guest sharing their favorite book and pairing it with the perfect drink. From classic novels to hidden gems, the conversations explore what makes books meaningful, why they stay with us, and how we see ourselves reflected in the stories we read. ​About Gigi Howard

​Gigi Howard is a librarian, book lover, and host of Drinks in the Library, a podcast she created to mix readers, stories, and plenty of fun. With 15 years of library experience connecting people with books, she brings her passion for reading and community into every episode. When she’s not podcasting or librarian-ing, Gigi enjoys time with her husband and daughter, spoiling their anxious-but-sweet cat, and throwing parties where she channels her inner Meghan Markle.

​Fun facts: Gigi has led her neighborhood book club since 2021, reviewed books for Booklist Magazine since 2018, and was recently elected Vice-President of the Virginia Library Association.

​About Ally Kirkpatrick

​Ally Kirkpatrick is an Alexandria native who loves reading, writing, and music. Opening Old Town Books in November 2018 was her way of making space - in Old Town and in her daily life - for these passions. Her other true loves are her daughters and husband, shop dog Scout, and gardening. Bookseller picks: Ally has been reading and recommending happy-ending thrillers (it's a thing!), books about current events written by journalists, nonfiction that reimagines well known historical figures, and beautiful gardening books.
