Careers by Design
Gone are the days when we pick a career and stay with it for our entire lives. The good news is that you can design and redesign your career many times! But how do you move from one to the next? When is it the right time? How do you even start?
Dr. Sharon Hull, MD, MPH, PCC, author of Professional Careers by Design, will share her framework for how to design (and re-design) your career across the lifespan as various personal (e.g., families, moves, losses, challenges) and professional (e.g., interests, burnout, opportunities) factors change.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Hull started out as a solo private practice physician in a rural community, later transitioned into academic medicine as an administrator and faculty member, then into coaching faculty and serving in a leadership role as Division Chief of Family Medicine at Duke University, and now owns a thriving executive coaching and consulting firm, Metta Solutions, working with elite professionals in health care (medicine, nursing, physician assistants, many others), law, finance and other service industries.
Her philosophy around career design is this: "I believe that we are in charge of our own careers, because nobody knows our values, our deep passions and our stakeholders' needs the way we do."
