AAPI CONNECT 2026

​AAPI Connect is an initiative launched in May 2024 with the goal of connecting Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) small business owners, entrepreneurs, and aspiring founders with business support resources and networking opportunities across the State of Connecticut.

​While the AAPI community is often perceived through the lens of the “model minority” stereotype, many entrepreneurs and small business owners still face challenges navigating access to capital, technical assistance, mentorship, and professional networks. These challenges are often overlooked within broader entrepreneurship conversations.

​AAPI Connect was created to help bridge that gap by providing culturally aware, community-centered support and increasing awareness of the many resources already available throughout Connecticut’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

​Through this initiative, entrepreneurs can connect with:

• ​Business advising and technical assistance

• ​Funding and capital resources

• ​Entrepreneurial programs and training

• ​Networking opportunities

• ​Ecosystem partners and service providers

​In 2026, the initiative found a home at Realist Lab as the organization expands its community engagement efforts to support entrepreneurs and innovation-driven economic development throughout Connecticut.

​We hope all AAPI business owners, entrepreneurs, students, creatives, and aspiring founders feel welcomed, supported, and empowered through this initiative.
