About Event

For many of us, "helping with college applications" means googling rankings at midnight and hoping for the best. This workshop is here to change that.

Join Feiyang Liu, a former UC Berkeley admissions officer turned founder of Your Epic Consulting, and Nico Berlingeri, founder of Momentum Labs, for a candid look at what actually happens on the other side of the admissions desk—and how to use it to your family's advantage.

You'll walk away with:

  • A clearer sense of how applications are actually evaluated

  • What separates a standout application from the rest

  • How to identify better-fit schools, programs, and financial aid

  • How tools and technology can take some of the guesswork out of the process—from finding schools that genuinely fit to staying organized through submission

This session is designed with our community in mind: practical, judgment-free, and built for busy leaders navigating this often isolating chapter of parenting—whether your teen is just starting to think about college or deep in application season already.

Come with your questions; we'll leave time for a live Q&A at the end.

About the Hosts

Feiyang Liu
Before founding Your Epic, I spent 4+ years at UC Berkeley doing admissions work, reviewing 2,000+ applications and evaluating well over 10,000+ college essays. While my former students have earned admission to top schools including UCLA, Berkeley, Stanford, and Johns Hopkins, more importantly many realize, in my former students’ own words, “that working with Feiyang through the college process has made me more confident in myself heading into college.” (Hopkins student)

I'm a proud 'Bruin-Lifer' and stay close to the UCLA family. I am a former VP of the NYC Tri-State Bruins, ex-President of the Sacramento Bruins, and a 2025 Bruin Business 100 honoree (UCLA Alumni's annual recognition of the top Bruin-owned businesses driving positive social change). I'm especially proud of guiding double-Bruin families through the complex admissions process, and of mentoring current UCLA students/recent grads through their academic, career and life transitions.

Fun fact: Over the last two years alone, I have 5 students (and counting) that I have personally counseled and enrolled at UCLA! Go Bruins 💙💛

Nico Berlingeri
Founder and CEO of Momentum Labs, where I built AdmissionsOS, an end to end admissions platform that uses AI and one of the largest admissions databases in the world to make the entire college application process simple. The platform has reached 50,000+ students, and I have personally coached 200+ students through admissions, with students earning admission to every top 100 university in America.

Previously, I spent two years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory building machine learning systems for Air Force platforms andwas also a quantitative researcher at Cinctive Capital, and later founded Gradient Trading, an algorithmic trading hedge fund that raised $3.4 million.

I also co-founded the Haq Foundation alongside Zar the Star, TheWizardLiz, and Chef Tova, who collectively reach more than 23 million followers, with Momentum Labs providing the education infrastructure as we build toward helping 20,000 Afghan girls continue school, apply to universities around the world, secure funding, and actually evacuate Afghanistan and get there.
