PTSD in Men: Let's Talk About It

We don't talk about this enough.

In our culture, men are expected to be strong, to provide, to push through — mwanaume ni kuvumilia. But what happens when the weight gets too heavy? When the things you've been through start showing up as anger, sleepless nights, drinking more than you should, or shutting out the people closest to you?

That's what PTSD can look like in men. And because we've been taught to just "man up," it often goes unrecognized — by us, by our families, and even by professionals.

This is a no-judgment space. Come as you are.

We'll be discussing:

  • What PTSD actually looks like in men (it's not what you think)

  • Why Kenyan men struggle to open up — and why that needs to change

  • Signs to look out for in yourself, your brother, your friend, your partner

  • Real, practical steps toward getting better

Speaker: Boniface Muoka

Date: Thursday, 25th June 2026
Time: 7:45 PM – 9:00 PM (EAT)

Hosted by Therabot — making mental health support accessible across East Africa.

You don't have to be in crisis to show up. Maybe you're curious. Maybe you know someone who's struggling. Maybe it's you. Whatever brought you here — karibu.
