About Event

Join us to celebrate the saints, the strange and stubborn ones who practiced the faith when it looked absurd to everyone around them. Doors open at 7:30 for drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres.

At 8:15 we gather for stories: a farmer's son who walked into the desert to face the old gods of Egypt, the woman who made the strife of Helen of Troy start working backwards, and the Polish hero who saved Europe from the invading Ottomans. Then we sing together, joining our voices with all the company of heaven in singing that death shall not have the final word.

Come hungry, ready for wonder, and ready to sing.

Suggested donation: $10 per person.

FAQ:

  • Is this event kid-friendly? This event is for adults; older kids are welcome who are able to attend on adult terms--for conversation, quiet listening to the stories, and singing with the songs (not playing in the next room). We believe that most “adult" activities (and the behavioral expectations that go with them) are deeply healthy places to invite our children into—and that that invitation is one most older children are not only capable of accepting, but excited to accept. At our community events, we want them to see Christian grownups living life as it was meant to be lived—so they have a vision of the future to look forward to, and participate in right now. Just keep in mind the events happen on the grownups’ terms. NOTE: we often serve alcoholic drinks at our events (we don’t consider this “not kid-friendly” because we believe it’s good to model responsible consumption for our kids). More questions? Email us at events@anselmsociety.org.
