About Event

Join us for a focused faculty roundtable with Dr. Cynthia Goh (University of Toronto)—professor, educator, and serial entrepreneur—on the role of principal investigators in advancing entrepreneurial activity from academic research.

In this one-hour session, we will explore:

  • How professors can meaningfully support commercialization efforts from their labs

  • The evolving role of PIs in entrepreneurial ventures

  • Time commitments and practical expectations for faculty involvement

  • Lessons learned from translating research into impactful ventures

This session is designed for UCalgary professors who are currently pursuing, or considering, the commercialization of their research, and who are navigating how best to support entrepreneurial trainees and initiatives within their groups.

The format will be conversational, with ample opportunity for discussion, peer exchange, and questions.
