​Join this workshop—delivered by a mother-daughter duo—on strategies for effective communication throughout the journey of Dementia and Alzheimer's caregiving. Explore culturally relevant examples, and specific tips for conversations with your circle of loved-ones.

​Facilitators:

​Denise Lywood is a Registered Nurse with 40 years of experience in the field. For the past 25 years she has worked in the homecare sector as an educator, supervisor, and care-team lead. She is well-versed in helping families navigate difficult transitions and the logistics of receiving healthcare at home. Denise focuses on client and family-centered care. She brings a natural ability to lead and connect, which has enabled her to act as a mentor to many people along the span of her life & career. In her downtime she enjoys, DIY home projects and grandma duties.

​Lanise Lywood is a liberation-oriented psychotherapist, speaker, and budding gardener who is passionate about providing client-centered and culturally responsive care. She is the founder and owner of Melanin Mosaic; a psychotherapy practice focused on helping people build the types of lives, relationships, and community they want to be in. Lanise offers support groups, individual therapy sessions, and partnerships with grassroots community organizations. (Like Beautifully Minded!).
