Join Chris Packham outside Pret over frankenchicken
This Wednesday, naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham is joining us outside Pret — and the car-sized FrankenWrap is coming back out with him.
In 2018, Pret promised to stop using frankenchickens by 2026. That deadline is here, and 100% of the chicken in their food is still frankenchicken — birds bred to grow so fast that many can barely walk by five or six weeks old, their hearts and legs giving out under their own size.
So we're bringing Pret's broken promise to its busiest door: a four-metre frankenchicken stuffed inside a giant Pret wrap, parked outside 152 Waterloo Road (by the train station), with Chris standing alongside us as we call on Pret to do what it said it would.
You don't need to do anything but show up and be part of it — every person who's there makes Pret's broken promise that much harder to ignore. Come down, bring someone with you, and stay as long as you can.
