About Event

📚 BOOK SWAP FOR TENDER HEARTS
7 PM • A cozy, book-themed gathering for kind humans

Bring a book you like enough to rave about for 60–90 seconds.

Tell us what the book meant to you, why you loved it, what was going on in your life when you read it, who you’d recommend it to — whatever you’d like to share :)

After everyone has introduced their book, we’ll do a white-elephant-style exchange so everyone leaves with something new to read, enjoy, or explore.

Here’s the vibe

Make a name tag
Add your name + decorate it however you’d like.

You’ll also have the option of adding connection stickers (choose any, all, or none):

🙂 Friendship — open to new friends
❤️ Romance — open to romantic connection
🌈 Queer — LGBTQ+ community
🔵 Poly / ENM — ethically non-monogamous

Ease into the evening (totally optional while folks arrive)

✂️ Collage a bookmark
🃏 Pull an intention card
💬 Try a favorite question
✨ Say hi to someone new or offer a compliment

We’ll get started around 7:30 PM.

And after the swap, the bar will be open if you’d like to stick around, hang out, and keep the conversations going.

The vibe?
Low pressure. Kind. Curious.
Introverts welcome. No awkward networking energy here :)

Tiny reminder:
You don’t have to impress anyone today.
You don’t have to be interesting.
Just interested.

Tender reminder:
Be kind. Be curious.
No pressure. No assumptions. 💛

Bring:

📚 A book you’d genuinely recommend
(Or something bookstore-adjacent if that feels more like you — poetry, magazine, puzzle, etc.)

✨ FAQs

✨ What kind of event is this?

A mindful, playful gathering for connection.
Less like a book club, more like a cozy social space where books are the starting point.

📚 What should I bring?

Bring a book (or magazine or puzzle) you’ve already read—or simply loved, hated, or can’t stop thinking about.

💛 Do I have to speak in front of everyone?

Just briefly.
You’ll have about a minute to introduce your book and share why you chose it—no pressure to perform, just an invitation to share.

👀 Is this a dating event?

Kind of—but not in the traditional sense.

Some people come open to dating, others come for community.
We don’t force outcomes here.

Connection first. Everything else can grow from there.

🧍‍♀️🧍‍♂️ Who is this for?

People who value:
– kindness
– curiosity
– emotional awareness

If that sounds like you, you’ll likely feel at home here.

🎟 What’s included in the ticket?

– entry to the event
– a draft drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
– a room full of thoughtful, open humans

👯 Can I come alone?

Yes—most people do.

These events are designed to make it easy to meet people, even if you walk in not knowing anyone.

🔁 What happens to the book I bring?

You’ll add it to the shared table, and leave with a different one through the exchange.

🌀 What does “Open Circle” mean?

This is a front-door event—anyone aligned is welcome.

From here, I may invite people into smaller, more curated gatherings based on energy and what they’re looking for.

❌ What’s your refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to transfer your spot to a friend.

🌿 What if I’m nervous?

That’s completely normal.

You don’t need to be “on” here.
Just come as you are—there’s room for you.
