What Does It Take to Trust (Again)? x The Journal Project
Shared Table Dinners—where we meet around food and questions. Everyone brings something to the potluck: a dish, a thought, a feeling, a view—and that’s already plenty.
Would you….
Let someone answer a message on your phone?
Let someone feed you a mystery bite, eyes closed?
Risk being silly with someone new?
Tell someone a secret you’ve (always) kept to yourself?
Admit that you feel (really) lonely sometimes?
Speak your truth to someone who (you don't know?) even if they might vote differently?
Sit in the discomfort of it all — together?
What will it take for us to trust each other again? 🫣
We live in a time of deep rupture. Trust, in institutions, in systems, in leaders, has been eroding, for good reason. But perhaps most dangerously, is that we are losing trust in each other, in strangers, in the people around us.
This evening is a response to all of this—an invitation to explore together: How might we begin again?
It won't be theories or declarations, but rather an exploration of small gestures and acts. Through delicious food, reflection and sharing, holding (each other), and the stories that have been passed from hand to hand across the world.
In celebration of The Journal Project, a global experiment in trust and collaboration, you’re invited to explore what trust looks like in motion, together!
🍎 How It Works
We ask that you bring something small and easy to share to keep it simple, tasty, and low-waste. You could bring a spread, a salad, raw veggies for a platter, a leftover that’s still delicious, or something sweet 🍫. Homemade or store-bought, all welcome.
This is an alcohol-free, vegetarian dinner — we’ll have tea and water to share.
Come alone, with a friend, or bring someone you’ve just met and want to connect with more.
This event is donation-based 🌟 with a suggested contribution of 10 EUR (minimum 7 EUR).
You’re welcome to give more to support C*Space, which kindly opens its doors to us, The Oneliness Project, a growing initiative to explore loneliness as a shared experience and reconnection as a practice, and The Journal Project. Thank you!
Flow ⏰
18:30 – Doors Open
Arrive slowly, help set the table, or just settle in.
19:00 – Welcome
Please have arrived by now so we can begin together.
19:30 – Community Meal
Let’s eat! :) Sharing what we’ve each brought.
20:00 — The Journal Project Story & Sharings
What happened to the 15 journals sent to 15 people around the world? What does it offer us about trust—towards ourselves, each other, and something greater?
20:30 – Reflections
Gentle invitation to connect more deeply around the topic of the evening.
21:15 – Clean up together
If everyone washes their bowl, we’ll be done in no time. And anyway, the best conversations often happen in the kitchen.
22:00 – Doors Close
Leave with a full belly, hopefully, a full heart, and maybe something new to sit with.
We can’t wait to see you! 💛
