About Event

When you're living with chronic illnesses and/or disability, the rhythms of life may not like the same as those of our non-disabled peers. How can we still honor our experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly?

Join Anna and Lorraine for a disability pride event: creating altars for our bodies. We invite everyone to bring a small item to add to our altar, something that represents an aspect of your life. We'll build an altar and share about our offerings in disabled community. We'll also do some journal prompts and reflection.

You don't need any prior experience with altars to participate!

This is a mask expected event in a KN95 or better. Masks will be provided if you don't have one. Because this is in a public library, there will likely be unmasked patrons in the space, but we will keep the door closed and bring an air purifier. We also ask that you come with low to no scent, but again cannot guarantee everyone in the library will be low scent. Please do not come if you or anyone in your family is acutely ill.

The library is about a 5 minute walk from the Northgate Transit Center and also has an attached parking lot. The library does not have any single occupancy restrooms, only "multi-stall single-gender restrooms".
