October Plant Dallas Gathering
Pastors & Friends: Why No Pastor Should Walk Alone
Ministry was never meant to be a solo sport, yet so many of us are running it that way. We preach community on Sunday and then drive home alone with the weight of what we can't say to anyone. We know the statistics about burnout and moral failure. What we talk about less is the quiet thread that runs through nearly every one of those stories: a leader who had plenty of people around him and nobody who truly knew him.
On October 8, Plant Dallas is gathering pastors, planters, and ministry leaders from across Dallas County for a morning built around one conviction: friendship is not a luxury for pastors, it is a lifeline.
Our guest is Dr. Jeff Warren, Senior Pastor of Park Cities Baptist Church, who will share candidly on the friendships that have carried him through more than three decades of ministry. He'll speak to why deep, honest friendship among pastors is essential to longevity, how it guards our hearts and marriages against the slow drift toward moral failure, and what it actually looks like to build those relationships in a city where every pastor is busy and most are lonely.
Here's how the morning will unfold:
A shared meal. We'll start at the table, because that's where friendship starts. No agenda, just lunch with brothers and sisters who carry the same calling you do.
Worship. A few minutes to lift our eyes off our churches and onto the One who called us.
Soul care. Space to be honest about where you are, to pray for one another, and to be prayed for. Not a program, a pause.
Pastor Jeff's talk. Practical, personal, and pointed at the one thing most of us are missing.
Imagine a Dallas where no pastor walks alone, where the churches of our county are led by leaders who are known, loved, and held accountable by real friends. That kind of city doesn't happen by accident. It starts in rooms like this one.
Bring a pastor friend. Or better yet, bring a pastor who doesn't have one yet.
