From Compacts to Capital: Unlocking Private Investment for Water
About the session
Water compacts under Water Forward set out strong national commitments to water security. They are a foundation for mobilising investment, and the next step is translating those commitments into the reforms, revenue models and project pipelines that investors look for.
From Commitments to Capital (C2C) is funded by CIFF and delivered by Climate Policy Initiative, the Resilient Water Accelerator, WaterAid and the Global Climate Finance Centre. It supports governments in building on their compacts and identifying the right mix of public, private and catalytic capital for each priority. It combines an analysis of published compacts, an investor-grounded Guidance Note, the Compact Clinic, and the Compact to Capital Navigator diagnostic tool.
This session shares first outcomes ahead of the full launch at Davos on 18 January 2027.

Who should attend
Governments, investors, MDBs, DFIs and philanthropies working on water finance.
Important note on Blue Zone access and accreditation
The roundtable will take place in the UN Water Conference Blue Zone, and Blue Zone accreditation is mandatory to attend. Participants without valid accreditation will not be able to access the venue or attend the session.
GCFC is a designated Umbrella Organisation and can support participants with the accreditation process. The accreditation deadline is 12 November 2026.
If you do not yet hold valid Blue Zone accreditation, please indicate this in the registration form. A member of the GCFC team will then contact you directly to guide you through the process and coordinate the necessary steps and approvals.
We encourage participants who require accreditation support to register as early as possible to allow sufficient time for processing.
