How to Get Hired in 2026: Tailoring your Application Materials
We're hosting three one-hour workshops in November to share tips and get your questions on the job search.
1) Targeting the Right Roles: How can you decide what's worth applying for? What's a good fit, and what's worth spending your time and energy on? How can you tell where you might be successful? We'll discuss the advantages of narrowing your search, even if it might feel counter-intuitive.
2) Tailoring your Application Materials: Once you have chosen a set of roles to apply for, what will move you from application to interview? What makes a good resume? Do you need cover letters? What about LinkedIn? We'll talk about how you can build an online portfolio that does more for you than just a resume.
3) Interviewing Well: After all the work of finding a role and applying, you have an interview! What can you do to make it as successful as possible? Interviewing is about finding mutual fit for both you and the hiring team, not passing a test. We'll share tips on how you can share more about yourself and learn about the company and team you're interviewing with.
We hope these workshops are accessible to folks at any level of experience, and for a wide range of roles.
All sessions will be recorded and shared with the Hack Your Summer community.
