Psychedelics: Where Science meets Spirituality
We are living through an extraordinary period of transformation—from the rapid advancement of AI to fundamental changes in economic, political, medical, and health systems.
At the forefront of this transformation is the resurgence of psychedelic medicines. As major pharmaceutical companies increasingly invest in the field, the science of psychedelics is advancing rapidly and gaining mainstream recognition. At the same time, another story has been unfolding quietly for millennia: indigenous and traditional communities around the world continue to work with sacred plant medicines through ceremonial and spiritual practices.
These represent two distinct approaches to healing—one grounded in modern science and clinical practice, the other in tradition, spirituality, and direct experience. Yet both are pointing toward a profound potential for transformation.

Come join us at the next Psychedelic Salon Oaxaca, with special guest Join Gerardo Urias. Gerardo is the author of Taking Back My Mind: My Journey Out of Depression with Psilocybin Mushrooms and founder of Ascension Retreat in Oaxaca, Mexico, for a personal exploration of both worlds.
A psychedelic therapist, IFS therapist, breathwork facilitator, wellness coach, public speaker, curandero, athlete, film maker, and lifelong traveler and adventurer, Gerardo will share his journey from discovering psychedelics through science to experiencing their deeper spiritual dimensions.
Drawing on emerging psychedelic research and firsthand experiences from the mountains of Oaxaca, Gerardo will explore the intersection of science and spirit, sharing personal stories and case studies of profound transformation witnessed by him and his team.
