Latin American Food Crawl!
The plan will be to start at chalupas poblanas el tlecuile, get some snacks (the coffee, and maybe some bugs/worms, or chalupas/taquitos) and then go to Tienda Guatemalteca el quetzalito for a meal. We will keep the food separate in case you are not a fan of eating grasshoppers and worms. We will go at the date and time written in this event, but because of uncertainty in the supply chain, being able to order cafe de olla, cuetlas, and chapulines is based on a best guess I got from the owner today.
After the Guatemalan food stop, anyone who wants to is invited to take a stroll of Corona with me looking for an early serving of Guaguas de pan and colada morada. These are a doll made of bread and sometimes custard, as well as a purple drink made with Andean blueberries starchy corn, fruits, and a cinnamon-like spice called Ishpingo.
