No Uniforms: An Assembly for Queer Studies
"No Uniforms: An Assembly for Queer Studies" invites you to join us at our Assembly to hear research and projects related to sexuality, gender, and/or queer acts and queer perspectives.
Come listen to and share with our six panelists, as well as Loo Zihan's opening presentation and sharing by other members of our Assembly team.
Our Assembly is interested in a broad survey of how queerness is currently understood and misunderstood, deployed and negated, invested and contested, desired and undesired. In other words, we are excited to hear and converse about the associations and possibilities that queerness might open for us. We feel lucky that six presenters will speak in our panels on 'Narratives' and 'Making Kin', and look forward to discussions that come from a wide range of perspectives. Our wish is that our Assembly connects queer persons and allies interested in gender and sexuality into productive networks and collaborations. In organising our Assembly, we want to acknowledge the work and the success of the Singapore Queer Symposium in 2024 at Proud Spaces.
