About Event

​G-Fellows is excited to host James Da Costa, Partner at Andreessen Horowitz


James Da Costa is a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where he focuses on investing in B2B software and financial services. Prior to joining a16z, James was a Y Combinator-backed fintech founder. Previously, James served as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company. James holds an MBA from Stanford University. While at Stanford, James was a researcher in Stanford’s Human Centered AI Lab, where he focused on the economic implications of AI. James is also a published author. Originally from the UK, James is based in San Francisco. He is an avid racket sports fan.

About G-Fellows​​

G-Fellows brings together an exclusive cohort of the most driven undergraduate students from top universities across the country for four weeks from April 10 to May 10. Each G-Fellow sources promising startups, tracks emerging industry trends, and nominates founders to pitch leading investors. G-Fellows are guided by tier-one VC and founder advisors, and get direct access to some of the hottest startups in Silicon Valley through hands-on workshops designed to help them land their dream internship and become truly industry-ready. Featured Fellows

Jackie Chen is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania in the Huntsman Program, studying Finance and International Studies. He competes in hackathons and has experience across both the sell-side and buy-side, including later-stage investing. Recently, he's become more involved in AI, investing, and emerging markets, and enjoys connecting entrepreneurs with angel investors. He plans to study abroad in Tokyo next fall. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking (and is a certified Japanese chef), journalism, and running.

Khandaker Wasi is a freshman at Cornell studying Biology. He first became interested in venture capital after being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list last year, following his work scaling an edtech organization, and since then has been increasingly involved in the SaaS startup and VC space. He’s also on a pre-med track and conducts biology research during summers. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and traveling.

Andrew Fan is a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania studying Finance and Biology, with a strong interest in venture capital. He has previously scouted for a couple of funds and is looking to reconnect more with the investing world. On the startup side, he’s been involved in building, scaling, and growing his own ventures as well as other venture-backed companies. Outside of business, he conducts biomedical research with his lab at Penn Medicine and enjoys watching football and traveling.
