About Event

When neurodivergent and ADHD leaders are supported to recognize their masking strategies to navigate neurotypical relational expectations and avoid rejection, they can practice honoring their authentic selves and lead in alignment with their true needs and values. ADHD unmasking is a practice of coming home to our authentic Self and reclaiming choice in how we lead.

In this conversation, Erin will walk us through a strengths-based, affirming exploration of ADHD in leadership, through the lens of women of color, in particular Black women and femmes, and late-diagnosed and discovered ADHDers. In this session, we will contextualize the experience of ADHD historically, culturally, and systemically; honor the protective strategies behind masking while acknowledging what it costs; and practice reclaiming our time, energy, and attention.

For the curious, here are some informational resources recommended by Erin:

About Erin

Erin Trent Johnson is a transformational leadership coach, facilitator, and storyteller committed to healing and liberation. With twenty years of experience in community organizing and leadership development, Erin skillfully guides leaders through personal change journeys toward wholeness and collective liberation. In addition to her own practice, as a mentor coach and facilitator with Coaching for Healing, Justice and Liberation and Somatic Abolitionism, Erin has trained and developed coaches and therapists worldwide.  Erin believes in mothering as leadership which prioritizes our capacity to attune to our own needs, share, and receive care. Her coaching approach integrates trauma-informed healing practices and creative expression to support non-linear thinkers, spiritual and sensitive people, parents, and caregivers in accessing the courage to be seen and known.  In all of her work, Erin declares we are enough, we deserve to dream and we do not need to work to prove our worth.
