Fireside Chat with Peter Oppenheimer
We’re delighted to announce that we will be hosting Peter Oppenheimer, Partner, Chief Global Equity Strategist and Head of Macro Research Europe at Goldman Sachs, Global Investment Research, for a fireside chat at the London School of Economics on Tuesday 8th December, 18:30–19:30. Peter is also an LSE alumnus, graduating with a BSc, first class, in Geography in 1985.
One of the most influential voices in global markets, Peter has spent over two decades shaping how Goldman Sachs and its clients understand equity markets and the macro forces that move them. He joined the firm in 2002 as European and global strategist, was named managing director in 2003, and became partner in 2006. Before Goldman Sachs, he held roles at HSBC and Hambros Bank, beginning his career as an economist at Greenwells in 1985.
Peter is the author of two acclaimed books on markets: The Long Good Buy: Analysing Cycles in Markets and Any Happy Returns: Structural Changes and Super Cycles in Markets — the latter exploring how shifts in macroeconomic drivers, geopolitics, government policy and social attitudes combine to drive the secular “super cycles” that shape long-term investor returns.
Peter is also a trustee of the Anna Freud National Centre and serves on the investment committees of the Motability Endowment Trust and the Wolfson Foundation.
