Part 1: Quiet Kinky Bookclub
Intro
Kinky bookworms unite! Come together to say hello, silently read for 45 minutes and then chat with others about your book and how it relates to your kink journey. Whether you're new or experienced to the kink scene, bring along a non-fiction book, connect and enjoy a sensory-friendly social.
Book club usually happens on the 4th Saturday of the month.
If you'd prefer to talk about vanilla or kinky books in a less structured way and skip the silent reading part, try Part 2: Quiet Kinky Bookclub Munch instead!
Schedule
2pm-2:30pm: Arrive and settle in 2:30pm - 3:15pm: Silent reading time 3:15pm - 4pm: Semi structured discussion.
You can share your name, the book you're reading and a few interesting points or how it links to your kink journey.
You don't have to share if you don't want to, feel free to just sit and listen. Each person has a few minutes of speaking time, to make sure everyone has a chance to share if they'd like to.
What book do I bring?
While the club focuses on kink-related non-fiction, it's very flexible. Don't stress too much about if your book fits. As long as you're interested in discussions centred around learning, growth and sharing knowledge you're welcome.
You could bring books directly about kink. If you don't know where to start, check out suggested reading lists on Goodreads or by Foxo.
You can also bring general non-fiction books that relate to your kink journey. These could include books about relationships, sex, culture and history. Again, please don't stress about how suitable your book is; they're just a prompt to help us share a bit about ourselves and our interests.
Forgot to bring a book or need something new? Go check out the Hare & Hyena bookshop at the Victoria Pride Centre. It's about a block away.
Audiobooks are books too! Listen with your earbuds on at an appropriate volume.
Vetting
QKB vets attendees to maintain a safe inclusive space to share knowledge and experiences.
Vetting is discretionary and based on Fetlife profile details, activity or community references.
If your profile doesn't give us enough info to vet properly, we will reach out for more information before approving your RSVP.
