Women's Circle 1: Anger [Member +1]
Hi all women and fem identifying people of the SF Commons community. Few of us are co-hosting a women's circle series. We hope to create a safe space to discuss any topic of the group's choosing. Some top of mind topics are:
Personal growth
Love, Anger, and other emotions
Modern relationships & family
Life transitions
(Changing) identity as women
Sexuality
Leadership
Menstrual cycles
Spirituality & creativity
...
For this first circle, we will have a guest host Sandra, who's been on a journey to reconnect with her anger for the past 3 years and is part of a London-based group "Love Your Rage" - aiming to change the narrative around women and anger.
On the topic of Anger - a powerful emotion, we can also discuss further readings such as Anger Becomes Her, Women Who Run with the Wolves, Come As You Are, Pussy, or films such as Women Talking, Barbie, Little Women...[fill in your fav source of inspiration].
Sandra's description:
"We - women - are most of the time not okay expression our anger.
Maybe because we have been told we need to be liked. Maybe we tried expressing our anger and it has been met with judgement and fear. Or maybe we are not even sure how to be angry and have not felt it in a long time. But anger, when intentionally expressed, can give us a lot of clarity. Our anger is an ally and a valuable signal that can show us places where we experience injustice, disappointment, threat, or violation.
Join us for a safe and open discussion where we can talk about anger, examine our narrative and learn simple practices to help us get in touch with this powerful energy in a safe way."
This circle is for you if you:
