From Classroom to System: The Role of Youth in Scaling School Change

​What happens when young people don't just teach in the government school ecosystem but actively work towards changing it from within?

​The Right to Education Act has greatly pushed primary enrolment rates, achieving near-universal access to primary education. However, enrollment doesn't equal learning. A staggering number of students are falling behind grade-level expectations, lacking foundational literacy and numeracy skills. Schools are stretched thin with too few trained teachers, too many students, systems still catching up, and leadership pulled in a dozen directions.

​A holistic ecosystem approach is required to address this issue. It requires not just working with students and teachers, but also with school leadership, community members, and improving learning infrastructure.
