Pitch Practice | Victoria Flores-Almazan - Take Charge with Victoria
A Pitch Practice is a one-hour session where you can share feedback and advice with a Social Innovator on how to improve their pitching skills.
For many bilingual and immigrant families, navigating life in the United States can feel overwhelming. A lack of clear, accessible information on essentials like education, immigration, and finances can be barriers to personal and professional advancement.
Victoria Flores Almazan was just 24 when she decided to do something about it. As a Mexican immigrant, she remembered how hard it was to figure out the education system when she first arrived. She spent hours searching online and asking counselors and classmates for answers to questions that felt basic, but had major consequences. That experience showed her how deeply information gaps can affect entire families.
Motivated by her own journey, Victoria launched Take Charge with Victoria, a bilingual platform in English and Spanish that helps underserved communities understand real-life topics like financial literacy, immigration, and higher education. By sharing her story, she found she could help grow access to opportunities for members of her community.
With support from RIVET, Victoria was able to develop a content strategy for her website and begin building out a multilingual expansion plan. Her site breaks down complicated processes like applying for a green card or opening a bank account into simple, digestible guides. Based on feedback from users, it’s already helping people overcome more than just language barriers.
Victoria plans to launch a podcast and expand her resources across new platforms. With continued support, Take Charge with Victoria can help even more people find clarity, confidence, and community.
