Vietnamese-English Language Exchange (Melbourne)
Welcome to the fourth Vietnamese-English Language Exchange in Melbourne! 😊
Whether you've been to previous exchanges or are thinking of coming for the first time, you're very welcome.
This is a relaxed and welcoming space to practise Vietnamese and English, meet new people, and become more confident speaking in a supportive environment.
Some people come to reconnect with their Vietnamese heritage. Others come to improve their English. Many simply come to make new friends and enjoy good conversation.
There is no requirement to be fluent. You can speak English, Vietnamese, switch between the two, or simply listen until you're comfortable joining in.
Throughout the evening we'll mix casual conversations with fun language games. Don't worry if you're a beginner, we regularly have people attending their very first language exchange!
Tentative Program
5:00 pm onwards – Coffee, settle in and meet everyone
5:30 pm – Introductions, conversations and language games
7:00 pm – Dinner nearby (with more conversations and games)
After dinner – By popular request, we'll be trying karaoke! 🎤
No pressure to sing, you're welcome to join in, cheer others on, or simply enjoy hearing songs you may never have discovered otherwise.
(The program is flexible depending on numbers and what everyone feels like.)
