Vote Abundant Forum with Bilal Mahmood (The Fillmore - D5)
Abundant SF is hosting a "Vote Abundant Forum" with Bilal Mahmood, who is a pro-housing, pro-effective government candidate running against Dean Preston for supervisor in District 5.
We’ll spend the evening getting to know Bilal and learn how he plans to address issues top-of-mind in our district: housing (affordability, jumpstarting specific D5 projects, and streamlining the process), effective government, and public safety.
We’ll hear about Bilal’s story and vision for the city, followed by a moderated discussion on D5’s most pressing issues, and finally, we’ll wrap up with live Q&A from the audience.
Whether you’re already on team Bilal or are on the fence and want to learn more, join us!

ABOUT BILAL
As a child of immigrants who currently rents and resides in the Tenderloin, Bilal has dedicated his life to helping others with experience in both the public and private sectors. He is a former policy analyst in the Obama Administration, founder of private and philanthropic organizations, and most recently elected member of the DCCC.
He has launched innovative initiatives to support restaurant workers with a guaranteed income, build one of the first computer labs in Chinatown, and convert vacant office space into universities and student housing. Bilal understands we must build bridges across San Francisco’s political lines to get results, and has collaborated with activists, civil servants, and elected officials to shine a light on government corruption and champion legislation to address our housing and climate crises.
ABOUT ABUNDANT SF
Abundance is an emerging political ideology and identity. We believe we can increase the availability of housing, transportation, clean energy, quality education and many other things in society – this should make it easier for regular people to build good lives for themselves and their children.
The Abundance Network chapters help citizens relearn citizenry, and make government responsive to our collective needs - building a civil society fit for the 21st century.
ASF is the flagship chapter of the Abundance Network, beginning our operations in 2023.
