Moth Night in the Pine Barrens
This July, join us for nocturnal nature appreciation in the New Jersey Pine Barrens!
We'll gather at Pakim Pond at 7pm and do a short walk around the pond, followed by a few hours of observing the animals that come to a "light sheet", which will attract various insects, including lots of moths!
This location is great because we can reliably find carnivorous plants, and see a whole variety of critters. Previous Moth Nights we've seen snakes, bats, beavers, foxes, turtles, frogs, birds, beetles, and so many moths! We even have a bat detector so we can see who's flying around the forest out of sight 👀
Things to bring:
-Snacks & Beverages!
-A chair or blanket
-Bug Spray!
-Headlamps/flashlights
-Art supplies/Cameras/etc.
