A Conversation With Teens and Parents About the Mental Health Impact of Social Media.
In this Chalo Baatein Karen session, brought to you by our 2025 Rcoz High School Changemakers, we’ll explore how every ping, like, and notification—though seemingly harmless—can deeply impact how young people focus, connect, and feel about themselves.
This session will feature Dr Seema Sehgal, MD and Dr Hari Nair, MD, who bring both clinical expertise and cultural insight to the conversation.
Together, we’ll discuss:
How constant digital stimulation affects emotional well-being and family dynamics
The difference between everyday teen mood swings and signs of deeper mental health concerns
What youth wish their parents understood—and how parents can truly support them
Why having this conversation together is more important than ever
