Oversight Hearing - Veteran Homelessness

​The City Council's Committee on Veterans and Committee on General Welfare will hold a joint oversight hearing on conditions at the Borden Avenue Veterans Residence. The city-funded shelter houses more than 200 homeless veterans.

​The hearing follows an October 1 oversight visit. Council Members Julie Won and Phil Wong were denied entry for four hours before they could inspect the facility. Five Borough Veterans requested this hearing and will testify. Veterans, families and members of the public are invited to attend.

​Please bring a photo ID and arrive by 9:30 AM. Public testimony may be registered on arrival or submitted in writing to testimony@council.nyc.gov.
