​ABOUT

​The African Women Investment Fund Initiative (AWIFI) is a strategic Pan-African initiative being developed under Leading Women of Africa (LWA).

​The initiative seeks to support:

• ​collective capital mobilisation,

• ​strategic investment participation,

• ​women-led economic collaboration,

• ​and greater participation of African women within strategic sectors shaping the future of the continent.

​AWIFI is being positioned as a long-term ecosystem that enables African women to participate not only as entrepreneurs, but increasingly as:

• ​investors,

• ​consortium partners,

• ​project participants,

• ​and economic stakeholders.

​The initiative is currently in its structuring and ecosystem-building phase in engagement with professional fund management and strategic partners.

​At this stage, we are inviting expressions of interest from women, institutions, and strategic stakeholders interested in becoming part of the founding ecosystem.

​THE VISION

​To create a structured Pan-African investment platform enabling African women to collectively mobilise capital and participate in Africa’s commercially viable and high-impact projects.

​The initiative is currently engaging experienced fund management and strategic advisory partners to support:

• ​compliance processes,

• ​investment oversight,

• ​and operational administration.

​Final governance structures will include:

• ​professional fund management,

• ​investment oversight mechanisms,

• ​defined participation processes,

• ​and clear operational accountability structures.

​AWIFI seeks to build a trusted and professionally managed ecosystem capable of supporting long-term participation of African women within strategic economic opportunities.

​PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

​To participate in the AWIFI ecosystem:

​Participants must be aligned with the vision and objectives of Leading Women of Africa (LWA).

​Preference will be given to:

• ​active LWA members,

• ​ecosystem partners,

• ​women entrepreneurs,

• ​professionals,

• ​investors,

• ​and institutions aligned with Africa’s economic transformation agenda.
