Understanding the Government perspective: What governments need to partner with nonprofits at scale
Host: Spring Impact, Instiglio & LGT Venture Philanthropy
Nonprofit-government partnerships are critical for big impact. Yet many fail to take off because strategies are designed without knowing what governments need to say 'yes'.
Drawing on new research, this session will centre the government's rarely heard perspective, asking not "how do we persuade?", but "how do governments actually decide?".
In an interactive conversation, government officials, funders, and practitioners will unpack what governments can afford, their constraints, and what nonprofits can or cannot shift – so partnerships fit public sector realities.
The panel will feature government, nonprofit, and funder representatives, alongside Spring Impact, Instiglio, and LGT Venture Philanthropy:
Rosanna Wakefield, Senior Consultant, Spring Impact
Avnish Gungadurdoss, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Instiglio
Marcia Parada, Investment Director, LGT Venture Philanthropy
Ansu Tumbahangfe, Director, TRAC4Change by Helveta
Alfred Okot Okidi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water and Environment, Uganda
Alice Foster-Metcalf, Senior Manager, Spring Impact
