Chances are, whoever let you go wasn't very good at it. They're likely decent humans, but most people aren't trained to end things with compassion. My guess is that you got a scripted monologue, a short meeting, and were left to go figure out the rest on your own.
This is an hour to get what that exit didn't give you: honesty. About where you actually are right now — in the space between the world you knew and the one that hasn't arrived yet — and why powering through it usually costs you more in the long run.
