About Event

Our moral concern is often bounded by the present—those we can see, hear, and empathize with directly. But what about the countless individuals who will exist after us? This talk invites the audience to reflect on the ethical importance of those not yet born, and argues that thinking of them might be one of the greatest gifts we can offer. It’s acting where few do, with immense potential impact.

About the speaker: Alparslan is the Founder and Director of Etkili Bağış, a nonprofit promoting effective giving in Türkiye. He also serves as Communications Lead at AI Safety Türkiye and mentors university students worldwide through the OSP on pursuing high-impact careers. Previously, he founded EA Bilkent and led the EA Ankara community. He wrote his senior thesis in philosophy on long-termism, arguing that reducing s-risks is a key moral priority for improving the long-term future.
