Hurdling presents: Hurdles for Dinner with Stef Sword-Williams – Behind the Brave Face
'Come on, put on your big girl pants now.' 'Keep your chin up.' 'You just need to grin and bear it.' 'Soldier on.' 'Time to put on the brave face.'
When times get hard, we often need to default to putting on a performance to make sure everyone things you've got your shit together. We try to put the personal to one side to make way for work. And we push down our own feelings to make space for others.
But what happens when things behind the scenes get too much and you just can’t keep putting on that brave face anymore? How do we piece ourselves back together to move forward? How do we get our spark back? And how do we decide what to do beyond the brave face?
Join us for the second Hurdles for Dinner at Sweet Thursday in De Beauvoir for an evening of sharing our food, oversharing our feelings and working out how to get over the things that get in our way. We’ll be joined by Stef Sword-Williams of F*ck Being Humble for a conversation diving into how to show up for yourself even when you’re not feeling like yourself – and all the hurdles that come with putting on a brave face.
We’ll be wined and dined by the excellent Sweet Thursday team, with pizza and wine. But as these events are designed to be close knit dinners for sharing, oversharing and really getting into how we get over the things that get in our way, there are only 30 places available – so do get your skates on!
Hope to see you there,
