POLITECH 2026; Exploring Web3 Innovation and the Future of Governance

​POLITECH 2026 is a workshop organized by the Department of Political Science, University of Lagos,We’d be focused on the intersection between technology, governance, and the future of society.

​The idea behind the theme “Exploring Web3 Innovation and the Future of Governance” is to help students understand how emerging technologies like blockchain, decentralized finance, digital identity, AI, and online communities are beginning to influence governance, public participation, transparency, finance, and civic systems globally, especially within Africa and our home Nigeria

​We also want to expose students to how young Africans are building solutions through tech and Web3 to tackle real issues such as financial inclusion, digital ownership, transparency, access to opportunities, and community-driven innovation.

​The workshop will feature conversations around: • The future of governance in a digital world • How Web3 is creating opportunities for African youths • Tech innovation and political systems • Building communities and startups in emerging tech • Career opportunities within Web3 and development
