int/haven (online)
Note: This event will be organized on Western European timezones. People on other timezones are welcome to join as well, but might miss some sessions.
A weekend-long write-a-thon, inspired by events like inkhaven.
A space to support anyone interested in integral altruism to write stuff that feels alive in them. This is also intended to seed activity on the in-construction ‘int/a forum’, an experimental forum where new ideas on the intersection of wisdom and effectiveness can emerge.
We encourage the writing to be on int/a topics! Feel free to follow what’s alive for you, but here are some suggestions of directions to go in:
Synthesising paradigms: Compare or combine ideas from EA and liminal web or wisdom traditions. Take an EA idea and make it wise, take a liminal idea and make it effective, or combine or compare.
Putting principles into practice: Take one of the (currently abstract) int/a principles and try to make it concrete and action-guiding for a specific decision, e.g. a career choice, a funding call, a community norm.
Concrete problems in the metacrisis: Propose a project, research direction, or career advice that brings us closer to solving the metacrisis.
Tentative format:
⏱️10:00-18:00 GMT each day
🌅Saturday: connecting and writing together
📨Sunday: giving and integrating feedback, then posting on the int/a forum (& optionally elsewhere)
