About Event

We need your input so that we can design something that’s useful to you.

Come along to understand Energy Together's joint energy data project with CSIRO, and the ambitions of CSIRO’s Living Lab. Our aim is to make energy data more accessible and useful for community energy groups and consumer advocates. Please register even if you simply wish to stay informed about the project.

OpenNEM has widely become the visual language for energy data at the Australian and State level, but our energy revolution is happening in homes and businesses. We need a visual language for Consumer Energy Resources (CER), Distribution System Planning and renewable communities. Energy Together and CSIRO are setting out to develop the data products that will help us all make better decisions about local energy data.

National Energy Analysis Centre (NEAC) - Living Lab

CSIRO’s Living Lab is working with everyone willing to share their household data and regularly answer surveys. You can join too. In the first part of our session Charlie  from CSIRO will give a sneak peek of the portal which has just been launched and answer your questions. More information about the Living Lab can be found here.

Ultimately the Living Lab hopes to answer questions about household interactions with energy and the changing opportunities and decisions that people face. We are keen to hear from you about the graphs and data that would help you make everyday decisions about energy.

But what does the Energy Together/CSIRO data project do?

Our second presentation will focus on launching the data project Energy Together and CSIRO are embarking on together. We have two key user groups - consumer advocates and community energy planners. You are encouraged to come to one of our four workshops around the themes:

  • Fairness - Equity and low income energy users (Thurs 10 Sep 1-2:30pm)

  • Access - Housing and investment challenges for renters, strata & apartments (Wed 16 Sep 3-4:30pm)

  • Transition - Pathways to electrification and renewable homes (Tues 15 Sep 3-4:30pm)

  • Planning - Totally renewable, zero emissions communities and electricity networks (Thurs 17 Sep 3-4:30pm)

Please also answer the registration questions about the data stories that would help you in your work.

You can read more about the project here.

Please join us on Friday 4th September to understand how your input will help to develop useful tools for consumer advocates and community energy planners.

This project was funded by Energy Consumers Australia as part of its Grants Program to support consumer advocacy and research projects that benefit of household and small business consumers. CSIRO is contracted to Energy Together to develop NEAC data products in ways that align with the project outcomes. The views expressed do not necessarily reflect the views of Energy Consumers Australia or CSIRO.
