About Event

What do we mean when we say “podcast marketing”?

There’s a lot of language floating around the podcast industry: growth, discovery, audience development, retention, conversion, clips, feeds, swaps. People throw these terms around like everyone agrees on what they mean. That's not the case!

Defining Terms: Podcast Marketing 101 is a one-hour, action-oriented session (with Q&A) designed to give you a shared vocabulary for podcast marketing. And more importantly, we aim to help you understand how to use these concepts in ways that make sense for YOUR show.

Led by Arielle Nissenblatt and three guest speakers (TBA), each presenter will break down a handful of essential terms you'll need in your podcast growth efforts.

What you’ll learn

  • Definitions: promo swaps, feed drops, impressions, CPM, DAI, host-read, programmatic insertions, pre, mid, and post-roll, and more

  • How to evaluate marketing tactics before you spend time / money

  • How to find shows to collaborate with and what to do with them

This event is for you if...

  • You're new to podcasting and wondering how to kickstart some growth for your show

  • You haven't done much marketing for your show yet

  • You want to build a growth strategy tailored to your goals

Well, It Depends, our event series, runs on this idea:

You'll leave this session with at least one thing to test, explore, or implement... whether that’s a new tactic, a clearer framework, or a better question to ask.

If you don’t, we'll give you half your money back.

This event is part of the Well, It Depends, which means:

There's no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to advice for digital creators. There are no universal shortcuts. Anyone telling you otherwise is either oversimplifying or selling you something. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t patterns, principles, and tools worth understanding.

You need to learn the rules so you can decide when (and how) to break them.
