About Event

What do we mean when we say “podcast marketing”?

There’s a lot of language floating around the podcast industry: growth, discovery, audience development, retention, conversion, clips, feeds, swaps. People throw these terms around like everyone agrees on what they mean. That's not the case!

Defining Terms: Podcast Marketing 101 is a one-hour, action-oriented session (with Q&A) designed to give you a shared vocabulary for podcast marketing. And more importantly, we aim to help you understand how to use these concepts in ways that make sense for YOUR show.

Led by Arielle Nissenblatt and three guest speakers (TBA), each presenter will break down a handful of essential terms you'll need in your podcast growth efforts.

Meet your presenters

Arielle Nissenblatt — Podcast strategist, founder of EarBuds Podcast Collective and Head of Community & Content at Pinwheel by Audily. Arielle works with creators, companies, and media organizations to build sustainable, thoughtful podcast strategies, and is known for translating big ideas into practical, usable next steps.

Joni Deutsch — SVP of Marketing & Audience Development at The Podglomerate. She's overseen podcast audience growth for shows and brands including Netflix, The Boston Globe, PBS, NPR, Harvard, Mayo Clinic, CVS, and more. Joni is an award-winning audio professional and NPR veteran with 15 years. She spent the first decade of her career innovating audio and community engagement at various public radio stations and as a national host with NPR Music. She has been recognized by the Murrow Awards, Gracie Awards, and Webby Awards, in addition to the ONA's Women's Leadership Accelerator, Axios' "30 under 30," and Duke University TiP's Early Achievement Award. 

Kevin Chemidlin — Founder of Grow The Show, a podcast production and growth consultancy that has served 500+ shows since 2020. He specializes in helping podcasters break out of the "friends-and-family zone" and turn their shows into top-performing sales engines. Based in Philadelphia, Kevin has helped clients grow from a few hundred downloads to audiences of 40,000 downloads/month and YouTube channels from under 50 subscribers to nearly 200,000. When he's not obsessing over click-through rates and episode intros, he DJs as a party trick and sings in a Philadelphia glee club.
