Workshop Invitation: Artisanal Baram-tteok Making

Join us for an immersive culinary experience at Sirumidam as we explore the delicate art of crafting Baram-tteok—a traditional Korean rice cake known for its beautiful aesthetics and delightful texture. Our workshop is tailored for adults of all skill levels, offering a welcoming environment where you can master the craft of creating these elegant, vegan, and gluten-free treats. All materials and tools for the workshop will be provided.

You will have the opportunity to taste Korean tea and Baram-tteok (wind rice cakes), and you can also take home the rice cakes you make yourself.

Workshop Details

Language: This session is conducted in both English and Korean. Total Duration: 120 minutes. Dietary Accommodations: Please notify the Sirumidam team in advance if you have any specific food allergies.

Workshop Curriculum

Introduction (10 min): Learn about the philosophy of Sirumidam and the cultural background of Baram-tteok. Preparation & Demo (20 min): Observe professional techniques and learn the step-by-step process of crafting the rice cakes. Tasting & Pairing (15 min): Enjoy your freshly made Baram-tteok paired with specially selected Korean tea. Hands-on Workshop (60 min): Experience the art of shaping and filling your own artisanal Baram-tteok. Wrapping & Closing (15 min): Package your creations beautifully and capture the moment with a commemorative photo.

Preservation & Enjoyment

To ensure the best taste and texture, Baram-tteok is best consumed on the day of production. If you intend to share your creations as a gift, we recommend delivering them either on the evening of the workshop or by the morning of the following day.

We look forward to welcoming you to Sirumidam for a memorable session of traditional dessert crafting.
